History
Describe how Michigan and Zimbabwe have changed and stayed the same over time.
Explain reasons people settled/settle in Michigan.
Explain the role of geography in the settlement of Michigan.
Describe and explain from multiple perspectives, a historical event or experience.
Describe and explain the importance of individuals and groups who have made a difference.
Human Behavior
 Explain how people in Michigan and Zimbabwe are different and similar.
Describe ways in which people in the state work independently and cooperatively to accomplish goals.
 Demonstrate sensitivity and respect toward and respect for others.
Geography
 Define and describe what a state is.
Describe and classify physical and human/cultural characteristics of Michigan and Zimbabwe.
Use map and globe skills to locate places.
Interpret and apply standard symbols and scales when using maps.
Use information obtained from maps to describe climate, natural vegetation and resources in Michigan and Africa.
