Design GalleryThe riverfront of Lower Town Ann Arbor is compelling and full of promise. It has attracted the attention of design students at the University of Michigan over the last five years. School of Natural Resources Professor Bob Grese's design students worked with a group of second graders from Bach Elementary in 1998 on Broadway Park; David Scobey at the UM's Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning taught a graduate seminar class "Landscape History and Public Culture" in 2002 focusing on archival research on Lower Town; Carolyn Constant led a studio design class at Taubman the same semester and used Broadway Park as the site for the term project. Samples of their work are showcased on these pages. The desired outcome of this Gallery is to generate a discussion of ideas and solicit additional ones. Each of the pages of the Gallery has an jump page at the top entitled "Join the Conversation". Use this option to pass along your thoughts. Much is happening now in Lower Town. The community has a role in its planning and design.
