Mapping Miami: A Public Art and Archive Project about Miami’s Cultural Arts History

Lara Stein Pardo is a Ph.D. candidate in Anthropology. She is in her second phase of a partnership with the Deering Estate at Cutler, an historic site in Miami. The primary goals of the partnership are to facilitate research, education and interaction around the topic of Miami’s history and the arts. The Project outcomes include a publicly accessible, interactive and virtual archive of Miami’s history and the arts, a map based virtual landscape and paper based materials that can be publicly circulated. Lara has represented Arts of Citizenship at two Imagining America conferences as a PAGE fellow and received funding from us for both conferences where she shared her research with fellow graduate colleagues.
