Latina/o Museum and Cultural Center Project

In partnership with key scholars from regional universities, representatives from community organizations and regional arts institutions, the long-term objective of the project is to establish a cultural center in Southwest Detroit with a museum, an exhibit space, and an archive/research center focusing on Latino history in the Midwest. The current short term ‘visioning project’ seeks to create a space for community stakeholders, and faculty and graduate students to come together in conversation about what such a cultural space should do for the community, and how the community can be instrumentally involved in its formation.
